WoW – what an amazing success! We had a large (150+) and fantastique crowd for our first screening of Jay Dreams at the Creative Alliance on November 8, 2008. Everyone was sooo inspired and inspiring!
Visit the Jay Dreams web site to see a very rough trailer and more information about the film… Jay Dreams
The City Paper wrote a nice article about the film here -
… “The film [sic] is a little bit sardonic, a little bit titillating, and a little bit playfully silly. .. capture(s) the hopes, worries, and desires of stereotype-busting individuals navigating interpersonal relationships, while sparking a jumble of emotional responses recognizable to just about all grown human beings.” The article also focuses on our collaboration and the role of the film in highlighting the local Bmore dom-fem scene. We are working now on completing the sound design, titles, credits, and final animations for the haiku titles.
The film would never have been possible without the incredible generosity of so many folks in the community. We’ll be writing and discussing these performers and much, much more here on our blog. Please feel free to post comments, feedback, and thoughts. We are currently planning a few more screenings in the local Baltimore/Washington DC so contact us if you’d like to set up a show.
We like to make our screenings a celebratory event!!! For instance we like to bring along a few amazing performers from the community to keep the love flowing after the film is done. You can see these amazing folks in the videos below! With all the post-Obama excitement in the US and anti-Prop 8 organizing – let’s keep the VISIBILITY HIGH for our community!
